Saint
Albert School
Board-
Father Chuck/ John Cool/ Tom Liston. The building campaign has reached
$5,000,000. Hopefully, the building project will begin this fall. We have 31
new students who are interested in St.
Albert and we have 15 to 20 more students who have
expressed an interest in attending. Scrip profits for the school year have =
exceeded
$61,000. There is over $97,000 of financial assistance available for next y=
ear
through the Catholic tuition organization for St. Albert’s students. The discus=
sion
continues on ways to reinforce the Catholic identity of=
St. Albert.

Life-Rebecca
Gaw.
The committee discussed Summerfest. We are proposing a less expensive baske=
t to
get more bids. Commitees will have the silent auction baskets completed for
display in the church by June 10th. We are having an oral auction
with 10-12 items. We will have margaritas, a keg, soda, food, snacks, and s=
ide

y. The
theme is luau and parishioners are encouraged to dress Hawaiian.=
Religious
Education-

The committee discussed the Summerfest baskets. We are currently putting
together 2 baskets: One with golf items and another with jewelry. We discus=
sed
possibilities for the women’s retreat. We are hoping to hold this eve=
nt
in October or November and are discussing guest speakers. Bulletin Trivia
Questions were completed for June, July, and August. Vacation Bible
School details were
discussed. Set-up and decorating will be June 14th at 7 p.m. at St. Albert. Registration will be from J=
une 4th

School will be from=
5:30 p.m.-=

fte

Religious Education teacher positions available. Anyone interested in teach=

of
Faith responsibilities were assigned, planned, and discussed.

Concerns-

The committee prepared 3 baskets for Summerfest: Hawaiian, Mexican, and Iowa. 80 adults =
and 5
children were served at Mohm’s place on June 3rd
.
Worship
and Spirituality-Mary
Brockelsby.
The com=
mittee
planned the liturgy for June 24- July 15, 2007 and the Liturgy Corner for the church
bulletin.
Youth
Ministry-
Mark Beckman.
We held a Virtus Child Protection training class on May 29th. We
will hold a server training on June 16th for anyone who has
completed 4th grade and up. We will offer a Mass ministry traini=
ng
this summer for our high school students. A trip to Adventureland for any
student entering the 4th grade and up in the fall will be on Jun=
e 26th. We are planning our high school
Leadership Institute program and our high school service group projects for=
the
2007-2008 school year. We are providing informat=
ion
packets to parents with some Internet Safety information to keep their chil=
dren
safe when they are searching the internet.
Altar
Society-
Gladys Michalski.
The Altar Society meeting was held on May 3rd with 46 people
present. Because of Mother’s Day, all the ladies in the parish were
honored. A chicken dinner was provided by Popeye’s and entertainment =
by
the Men of Grace. We discussed =
the
baskets for the Summerfest auction. The decision was to make 2 baskets- a
stationery basket and a gardening basket. In order to hold the costs down,
members will bring items for the baskets. The Father’s Day brunch was
discussed and plans will be finalized at the June 7 meeting. Carol Larson w=
as
introduced as the newest member. Presently, we are participating in the
retirement reception for Bishop Charron being held at Queen of Apostle̵=
7;s
on June 10th. All four officers will retire in December and new
officers will be elected at that time.
Knights
of Columbus-
Father Chuck.
Two new members, Brian Corzine and Trapper Zuehlke, were inducted into the
first degree of the Knights of Columbus. We have met our quota for members =
for
the star council award and need two new insurance members to achieve our 8<=
sup>th
star council award. The Mother’s Day brunch was a huge success with
approximately 400 people. Two scholarships totaling $1,000 were given to St. Albert to help
students with their tuition. The next meeting of the Knights will be June 1=
2th
and will begin with a cookout in conjunction with the meeting.=
span>
Buildings
and Grounds-
Jim Beck. The committee met June 5=
th at 7 p.m. in the social hall. =
Clean
up from the mud from May rain was completed by four parish teens. Drainage
problems were fixed as well.
A
permanent patch has been put in the parking lot and plans for a new drain a=
nd
new steps for the social hall are
still being discussed.=

Father’s
Report-
Father Chuck.
Finance
Council: Our
monthly financial report was issued. We remain slightly ahead of budget.
Summerfest:
I am looking forward to the annual Summerfest fundraiser. I hope everyone w=
ill
attend. The money raised at Summerfest is an important part of our yearly
budget.
Bible
study is going well. There are about 60 people attending. We are doing this=
Bible
study in conjunction with
St.
Patrick’s.
There is a nice representation from both parishes.
Father
Mark Neal will be coming in July. He will help out at St. Peter’s and=
St.
Patrick’s as well as teaching at
St. Albert.
Robert
Beck is completing work on the downstairs apartment at the worship center. =
It
had some water damage
and he has finished fixing =
the
ceiling.
We
should have our St. Albert
assessment fairly soon. I expect that our assessment will be over $300,000 =
for
the coming school year.
We
are thinking about replacing the carpet in the social hall. We did get some
water damage from the 5” May rain. The social hall had a large number=
of
parties during the month of May.
A
reminder that Bishop Charron will celebrate a Mass of thanksgiving this Sun=
day,
June 10th, at Queen of Apostle’s with a reception to follo=
w.
There
is no news on a new bishop.
